"Scarecrow and Mrs King" é uma dessas séries de TV que o Brasil só pode conhecer por intermédio da TV a Cabo, já que nunca foi exibida em nossa televisão aberta. A mesma é do gênero espionagem e foi exibida nos Estados Unidos entre 03 de Outubro de 1983 e 28 de Maio de 1987. Contabilizou 88 episódios em quatro temporadas.

O programa era protagonizado por Kate Jackson (no papel de Amanda King) e Bruce Boxleitner (no papel de Lee Stetson, codinome Scarecrow). Ele é um agente de alto nível de uma fictícia organização chamada "Agency" (uma espécie de CIA) que acaba sem querer envolvendo uma dona de casa divorciada em suas missões.

A cada missão, Amanda vai se envolvendo cada vez com o parceiro e a organização para quem trabalha. O tom de romance entre ambos passa a predominar e um matrimônio nunca revelado para os demais personagens acaba por ocorrer.

Por se tratar de uma série ambientada durante o período da guerra fria, a maioria dos episódios envolvia espiões soviéticos. O espetáculo ganhou o prêmio Emmy na categoria “Outstanding Achievement in Music Composition for a Séries” pela música composta por Arthur B. Rubinstein para o episódio “We´re Off to See the Wizard”.

No Brasil, foi exibida em 1996/97 através do Canal a Cabo Sony (entrava na parte da tarde, inicialmente as 16h00 e depois as 15h00). Em DVD, foi lançada na íntegra nos Estados Unidos.
